Mattress Sizes have changed over the years and Mattress Companies make them in many different thicknesses.
Choosing the correct size blanket for your mattress starts with deciding if you would like to tuck your blanket under your mattress or if you would like your blanket to hang along the side of your mattress.
Follow this simple guide below to determine what blanket size is best for your mattress:
- Start with a tape measure and hold on left side of mattress. Extend the tape measure up the side of the mattress over the entire flat center and down the right side of the mattress.
- Once you have determined the entire width from the bottom left to the bottom right side of the mattress you can find the blanket that is closest to this dimension for a blanket that will lay by the side of the mattress without tucking. If you would like to tuck your blanket we recommend adding 12" to the total width of the blanket allowing 6" on each side of the mattress for tucking.
- Length can also be customized to accommodate tucking on the bottom of the bed as well. Take the same measurements but from headboard to bottom of mattress on the foot. Add 6" to this length and you will have the ideal blanket size for your mattress.
